As per our Local Constitution, the Election for Minneapolis Area Local Officers and APWU Convention Delegates is now in progress. The Ballots were mailed on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 from True Ballot Inc. in Bethesda, Maryland.
Take a moment to review the sample Ballots on our Bulletin Boards.
**Your personal ballot will also include appropriate craft and work location contests.**
Please read and follow the instructions carefully; particularly where you separate your mailing stub from the ballot, sign and position the stub in the Business Reply Envelope. Please be sure to sign your mailing stub. Then vote, put your ballot in the Secret Ballot Envelope, seal it, and position it also in the Business Reply Envelope behind the stub so the address is visible for mailing. (Detailed instructions are found on the back of your ballot.)
This ballot will be electronically counted. It is a TWO SIDED ballot with instructions on one side, and Candidates on the other. Other important points to remember are:
1. Look at each position carefully - in some Craft races you can vote for up to two candidates. You can vote for up to 10 candidates in the Delegate contests.
2. To vote, clearly mark the box next to the candidate of your choice.
3. The American Postal Workers Union National Constitution prohibits write-in votes.
Your Election Committee has made every effort to see that each and every eligible member receives a ballot. Undeliverable ballots will be returned to the Committee.
If you do not receive a ballot in a timely manner (by March 10), please contact a member of the Election Committee or call Sheila or Marie at the Union Office at (612) 623-0677. You will need to provide: Your Name, Social Security Number, Correct Address, Work Location & Hours, and Home Phone. Remember, the ballots are printed and mailed from Maryland, be sure to provide adequate mailing time to both receive and mail your ballot back to our Local Election PO Box.
