Tour 2 Letter Automation Minneapolis Main PO Staffing Realignment

On Thursday, June 16th management notified the Union that they anticipate there may be a need to realign staffing in Pay Locations 245 and 247 in the Minneapolis P&DC. After a brief discussion we agreed to meet again on Monday, June 20th. This meeting took place with both parties expressing concerns and preliminary numbers related to duty assignments. A scheduled meeting for Wednesday, June 22nd was inexplicably cancelled by management.

We fully understand that everyone with duty assignments in the subject pay locations have heard rumors and would like some concrete answers regarding their job status. Although it may be necessary for management to change preferred duty assignments, the Union prefers that all avenues be taken in order to either avoid these changes, and at the very least to minimize the impact.

We meet with management in order to receive documentation that they feel justifies staffing changes. We will independently review this data to ensure there is a legitimate need. If we determine management has a legitimate need and that they are truly engaged in the process to minimize the impact to all employees we will work with them to ensure all contractual rights are satisfied. If management leads us to believe they are charging ahead ambivalent to employee impact we will utilize all resources available to expose contractual violations and aggressively pursue the same. We will make every effort to keep everyone abreast of information on their job status as it becomes available to us……….
