Hello, my name is Joe Sorman. I currently hold the position of Assistant Craft Director Motor Vehicle Services (maintenance). I'm in my second three-year term at this time (February 2005). I have been an automotive technician (mechanic) for 30 years and almost 16 of those years with the Postal Service. I started my automotive career training at Minneapolis Vocational High School and then many short programs at G.M. Training Center, Autotech, and Norman Oklahoma Postal Technical Training Center, to name a few. I also have a wealth of knowledge I obtain from my peers on the shop floor on a daily basis.

I have been an A.P.W.U. steward or officer for approximately 12 years. In that time I have been very fortunate to have had training in a large array of subjects on Union matters taught by Local and National Officers. With all of this training you might think I have all the answers. No, but with the help of my fellow stewards and officers we can answer most of your concerns and questions. Isn't that what UNION is all about?
