Your Local Business Agent is Peggy Whitney.

I began my career with the United States Postal Service in Minneapolis in July 1986 as a Part-time flexible LSM Clerk. Having been raised in a strong Union background, it didn’t take long for me to find my way into the steward’s office and begin asking questions regarding the contract and my supervisor’s method of applying it. Eventually, my constant inquiries regarding work-floor rules resulted in my certification as steward in 1988. After several years of extremely rewarding steward experience from my mentors Lyle Krueth and Jerry Sirois I was elected as a tour 1 clerk craft vice president. During my 2 terms in this position I was heavily involved in the LSM downsizing and resulting staffing impacts on the clerk craft. Additionally, during this time my grievance process skills were also expanded and refined as I became involved in all areas of the contract and higher levels of the grievance procedure. In May 1998 I was elected Executive Vice President and my role in the Union had fully transformed into a way of life for myself, my children and my friends. Currently, I am privileged to be serving the membership on a full time basis as the Local Business Agent since my election in May 2001.
